A TIMELESS TUESDAY NIGHT OUT TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S RELAY FOR LIFE OF TIOGA COUNTY IS THIS COMING TUESDAY, MAY 5. FROM 5-8:30 P.M. AT TIMELESS DESTINATION AT 77 MAIN STREET IN WELLSBORO, ADULTS AND YOUNGSTERS CAN ENJOY AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BUFFET FEATURING PASTA, MEATBALLS, GARDEN SALAD AND BREAD. THE DINNER FOR ADULTS IS $10.99 WITH $2 FROM EACH DINNER SOLD DONATED TO THE TIOGA COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE. FOR YOUNGSTERS UNDER THE AGE OF 12, DINNER IS  $5.99 WITH $1 FOR EACH DINNER SOLD DONATED TO THE RELAY. TAKEOUT IS ALSO AVAILABLE. IN ADDITION TO THE MEAL, PEOPLE CAN PAY $1 FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A $20 TIMELESS DESTINATION GIFT CERTIFICATE. THE DOLLARS RAISED WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO THE TIOGA COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE.

CELEBRATE MOTHER’S DAY BY GOING ON A “HUMOROUS AND SPIRITED” JOURNEY THROUGH MOTHERHOOD AND FAMILY BY ATTENDING HAMILTON-GIBSON’S PRODUCTION OF “MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD.” PERFORMANCES WILL BE AT 7:30 P.M. THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, MAY 7, 8 AND 9 AND AT 2:30 P.M. ON SUNDAY, MAY 10 - MOTHER'S DAY - AT THE WAREHOUSE THEATRE ON CENTRAL AVENUE IN WELLSBORO, NEXT DOOR TO THE NATIVE BAGEL. ANYONE WHO IS A MOTHER OR HAS A MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, STEPMOTHER, FOSTER MOTHER OR SOMEONE LIKE A MOTHER IN HIS OR HER LIFE WILL APPRECIATE THE HUMOR AND EMOTIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS OFFBEAT, EDGY, FUNNY AND MOVING PLAY. HISTORIAN AND SONGWRITER BILL JAMERSON DRESSED AS A DOLLAR-A-DAY BOY WILL SHARE STORIES THROUGH SONG AND STORYTELLING ABOUT THE CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS ON TUESDAY, MAY 12 AT 7 P.M. AT THE DEANE CENTER’S GRAND COMMUNITY ROOM, 104 MAIN STREET, WELLSBORO. THE INFORMATION IN THE PROGRAM IS BASED ON FIRSTHAND ACCOUNTS ABOUT THE CCC JAMERSON HAS GATHERED AT CCC REUNIONS AND CONVENTIONS. HE WILL ALSO SHARE VIDEO CLIPS FROM HIS 1992 DOCUMENTARY FILM “CAMP FORGOTTEN – THE CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS IN MICHIGAN" AND EXCERPTS FROM HIS BOOK “BIG SHOULDERS,” A HISTORICAL NOVEL PUBLISHED IN 2007 ABOUT THE EXTRA-ORDINARY INDIVIDUALS IN THE CCC. THERE ARE OFTEN PLEASANT SURPRISES AT HIS SHOWS WHEN SOME OF THE PEOPLE ATTENDING TELL CCC STORIES. FROM 1933 TO 1942, CCC CAMPS OPERATED ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, INCLUDING IN TIOGA COUNTY, PA. THIS YEAR’S COMMUNITY DINNER: “A SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY WILL BE HELD AT WILLIAMSON HIGH SCHOOL. THE COMMUNITY DINNER, A STUDENT PLANNED, RUN, AND OPERATED CULINARY AND ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCE IS TITLED A SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY AND SERVES TO HONOR THOSE WHO EXPERIENCED THE WWII ERA. THE MENU WILL CONTAIN ITEMS FROM VARIOUS ALLIED COUNTRIES OF WWII, AND WILL BE CRAFTED BY STUDENTS IN WILLIAMSONS CULINARY PROGRAM. THIS YEAR'S SHOW STARTS FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH WITH A FISH FRY AT 5 P.M. FOLLOWED BY A CONSIGNMENT AUCTION BY ED PEPPER AT 6 P.M.    SATURDAY HOLDS MANY EVENTS INCLUDING A TRACTOR PARADE, GARDEN TRACTOR PULL, AND COVERT ACTION WILL BE PERFORMING TWO SHOWS.  SUNDAY BEGINS WITH A CHURCH SERVICE FOLLOWED BY THE CHINESE AUCTION DRAWING AND THE TRACTOR RAFFLE AT 2 P.M.

THE 20TH ANNUAL BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS MOTORCYCLE RALLY WILL BE HELD SUNDAY JUNE 7TH BEGINNING AT SHERWOOD-GROOVESIN TOWANDA AND WINDING THRU THE ENDLESS MOUNTAINS FOR 80 MILES ENDING AT RIVERFRONT PARK IN TOWANDA. COST IS $10.00 PER RIDER TO INCLUDE LUNCH, PRIZES AND A COMMERATIVE PATCH. THE GRAND PRIZE IS A 4 NIGHT STAY IN CLEVELAND AND ADMISSION TO THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME VALUED AT $1,700.
