THE HMAC CASTAWAYS RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM, COMPOSED OF EMPLOYEES FROM HITACHI METALS AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS, IS HOLDING A CHICKEN BARBECUE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 30 AT THE FORMER WELLSBORO AGWAY ON ROUTE 6 NEAR WELLSBORO. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY THROUGH THE RELAY FOR LIFE OF TIOGA COUNTY.  THE PRICE IS $7 FOR A BARBECUED CHICKEN HALF AND $8 FOR A DINNER THAT INCLUDES A BARBECUED CHICKEN HALF, BAKED BEANS AND EITHER MACARONI OR POTATO SALAD. THE GMEINER ART AND CULTURAL CENTER IN WELLSBORO IS PRESENTING THE OPENING RECEPTION FOR “COLOR THROUGH THE EYES OF AN ARTIST,” AN EXHIBIT OF PAINTINGS BY RUSSELL RICHARD OF MANSFIELD. THE GUTHRIE WELLSBORO RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM IS HOSTING A BUS TRIP TO THE NATIONAL AQUARIUM AND BALTIMORE’S INNER HARBOR ON SATURDAY, JUNE 25. THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS THIS COMING MONDAY, MAY 2. THE BUS WILL LEAVE FROM BENEDICT’S TERMINAL IN WHITNEYVILLE AT 6 A.M. ON JUNE 25 OTHER STOPS TO PICK UP PEOPLE GOING ON THE TRIP WILL BE IN MANSFIELD, BLOSSBURG, LIBERTY, TROUT RUN AND WILLIAMSPORT. HOSTING THE EVENT IS TEAM KATIEBUGS, A RELAY FOR LIFE OF TIOGA COUNTY TEAM. FOR A MINIMUM DONATION OF $20 PER ADULT (13 AND OLDER), $10 FOR YOUTH (6 TO 12), OR $50 FOR A FAMILY OF UP TO FOUR, PARTICIPANTS CAN REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN A NON-COMPETITIVE HIKE OR CHOOSE TO BIKE THE RAIL TRAIL AND RECEIVE AN EVENT T-SHIRT AND A PICNIC LUNCH.
