FREE NIGHT SKY TOURS ARE BEING OFFERED ON SATURDAYS, SEPT. 24 AND OCT. 1 AT CHERRY SPRINGS STATE PARK AT 4639 CHERRY SPRINGS ROAD, 15.1 MILES FROM COUDERSPORT. CURRENTLY, VISITORS TRAVELING TO CHERRY SPRINGS FROM THE MANSFIELD, WELLSBORO AND WESTFIELD AREAS NEED TO TAKE ROUTE 6 WEST TO SWEDEN VALLEY AND THEN ROUTE 44 SOUTH TO THE PARK BECAUSE WEST BRANCH ROAD NEAR GALETON IS CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS PAST THE TURN FOR LYMAN RUN STATE PARK.  VISITORS MAY OBSERVE ON THEIR OWN AND DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND A STARGAZING PROGRAM. IN THE COOLIDGE THEATRE AT THE DEANE CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, 104 MAIN STREET IN WELLSBORO. THE CANYON SQUARES  OF WELLSBORO WILL HOST AN OPEN HOUSE SQUARE DANCE PARTY ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5, AND AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12. THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, AND WILL BE HELD AT THE ROCK L. BUTLER MIDDLE SCHOOL CAFETERIA FROM 7 PM TO 9 PM.

ON OCTOBER 13TH  AT THE GALETON HIGH SCHOOL THE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS BETWEEN CAMERON COUNTY AND GALETON WILL BE PLAYING FOR A "CURE FOR CANCER.  T-SHIRTS ARE BEING SOLD AT BOTH SCHOOLS OR AT BAXTERS BAKERY IN GAINES.  COME OUT TO THE GAME AND SUPPORT THE "CURE FOR CANCER EVENT" AT THE GALETON HIGHSCHOOL ON OCTOBER 13TH. ALL T-SHIRTS PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE LOCAL CANCER SOCIETY.

THE COUNCIL HAS DESIGNATED MONDAY, OCT. 17, THROUGH FRIDAY, OCT. 21 AS FALL CLEANUP WEEK SO WELLSBORO BOROUGH RESIDENTS MAY PUT UNSOLD YARD SALE ITEMS AT CURBSIDE ON THEIR REGULAR GARBAGE PICKUP DAY.
