            The purpose of this EEO Public File Report is to comply with Sections 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s EEO Rule.  This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is compromised of the following stations:  WNBT AM and FM  and WNBQ and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on their websites.

            The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning March 27, 2008 to and including March 26, 2009.

 Station was a participant in the Tioga County Youth Leadership Program in February, 2009.  John Antonio of WNBT, was a "Presenter" and broadcast a live program.  The program was attended by high school juniors from the Northern Tioga, Southern Tioga and Wellsboro School Districts, as well as the New Covenant Academy in Mansfield, PA. Informative Meetings with Current Staff Members of WNBT

 

In 2005,  after attending the PA Association of Broadcasters EEO Seminar, Mary Riggle went over requirements of wide dissemination and EEO in detail with Alfred Harer, Station Manager, who, in turn, explained the related duties to  each department head. A similar meeting was held March 9, 2006 and Robert Schauer will meet with Alfred Harer to update him and go over regulations.

 

Working with Guidance and Career Training Counselors.

 

As in the past, WNBT has worked with nearby Mansfield University, providing them with brochures and information about jobs and careers in radio.  Students were invited to the station facilities to tour and observe the daily operations of a radio station. Two Wellsboro High School students have become part-time announcers at WNBT and are learning the business, as have countless others before them

Working with Northern Tier WorkForce Development Center

 1-  Early in this current report year, John Antonio, host of WNBT’s Local Interview Program, was honored by the PA Association of Broadcasters for the excellence of this program that airs 200 times each year.  Among his many guests, John regularly  interviews outstanding students, as well as faculty, and broadcasts direct from several educational activities.

2-  Autumn Pifer, who was an Intern at WNBT and after graduation, joined our staff, has spoken   to friends, including one attending Juniata College, about the possibilities of his working in radio.  He is on the campus station, WKVR(FM).

Supplemental Activities Not Being Claimed for Menu Option Credit:

 

            1.         At a career fair in the Wellsboro community, the staff participated and had information on the careers in broadcasting available for those in attendance.

            2.         WNBT’S Morning Radio Show Personality, John Antonio, was recently awarded: Green Group, Judges Merit Award Category for “Coffee Break with John”.  This program exemplifies John’s ideas on careers in broadcasting.  John’s Show, aired four days per week on WNBT involves the community in broadcasting.
